Brown Sugar is a Portland-based BIPOC improv team, currently serving a residency at Kickstand Comedy for a monthly indie showcase, Velodrome. Formed in 2025, this team has been performing in the metro area (and beyond!) and bringing a relationship & character-focused lens to improv. The team consists of Alé Martinez, D’Guar, Dyvisha Gordon, Laz Romankiw, Michelle Dorantes, Monel Chang, and Nicholle Ortiz and each brings their own lived experiences and sense of community to the stage.
No Sex and the City is the queer improv duo of Roland and Mariah, who have been improvising together for over a decade. Their shared history fuels sharp relational comedy, absurd characters, and delightfully messy explorations of love, lust, friendship, and everything in between.
Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

Improvisation is collaborative, unscripted theater where actors invent stories, characters, and dialogue in real-time. Instead of relying on a written script, the performers build scenes spontaneously based on suggestions provided by the audience.
